Lockport Petition Freight Yard

PETITION AGAINST FREIGHT YARD IN LOCKPORT

We, the undersigned request that the City of Lockport Illinois NOT extend an invitation to develop a Freight Yard-Transload facility and to investigate CLEAN non -freight & non-polluting developments for the Texaco/Chevron facility located at: 301 W. 2nd St, Lockport, IL.  Thousands of trucks per week, 7/24 operation, will have an affect on property values & our quality of life. . We refuse to accept the increased pollution from Diesel fuel & Freight trains,  Noise & are concerned for our children's health & safety in local schools such as Ludwig, we say 'NO’ to the traffic, pollution & noise in Downtown areas, Route 171/State St., 159^th, 151st,  New Ave, 135^th etc! This is not what Lockport, the surrounding areas or the Historic DT want or need!
